Programs Offered

The College of Life and Environmental Sciences is one of several colleges within Wenzhou University to offer courses to international students, with the first batch of international students admitted to the Biotechnology major in 2016.

Wenzhou University has a number of attractive features that are ideal for international students seeking to study in China. These include scholarship prospects, affordability, online learning, smart classrooms, program subjects, English as the language of instruction, distinguished campus, and career prospects. The university also has extensive collaboration with universities abroad, both in research and educational-based programs, including an active student exchange program.

At present, the college offers both Bachelor's and Master's programs to international students. For the Bachelor programs, students can apply either for the Biotechnology major or Bioengineering major. Other Bachelor’s programs are currently not on offer. The lessons are given in English by academic staff who are either fluent in English or have a good level of English ability. Students are encouraged to learn Chinese as part of their study and to have frequent interactions with local students outside the class. As for the Master's program, four different majors are available. These are Biology, Ecology, Pharmacy, and Resource & Environment. Please note that there are currently no separate classes for international students regarding the coursework, so international students are expected to attend the same classes as the local students, and the lessons are delivered in Chinese. For more information on the different programs please refer to the information in Undergraduate or Postgraduate listed under Course.
